I took Biology 120 my first semester at Longwood and I personally really enjoyed it. I had previous knowledge of Biology before taking this course from high school because I took general biology as well as AP Biology. I enjoyed this course because of the material that was taught and it allowed me to get a feeling of how a biology major may look like in the future. I was not sure what to expect because I did not think the previous biology courses I had taken would have prepared me enough for college level, but going throughout the semester I found that I easily adapted to the course. Now, after taking additional Biology courses here at Longwood, I believe this course allowed me to grow as a student and it set a foundation for my future Biology courses. This course also allowed me to fall in love with being a Biology major. In this course we also learned how to write formal lab reports, including all the parts and sections required. I had never done that before so this class allowed me to learn by summiting drafts and final papers to edit the paper before the final is turned in to fix the major mistakes and learn from them. I liked that way of doing it because it allowed me to recognize my mistakes that I may have thought here accurate before it was too late. We also did 2 presentations based on the projected we did in lab. I really enjoyed doing them because they were based on actual results that we obtained. I included the second presentation my group presented as my artifact.
