GEOG 201

GEOG 201, Basic Elements of Geography was a very interesting course to take. I took this course during my first semester at Longwood in the Fall of 2019. Throughout the semester we learned all the basic components if the globe and why certain things occur and specific locations around the globe. I was really interesting to learn about those things because I had never put into thought as to why deserts occur at specific latitudes or the causes of monsoons. This course continued to spark my interest throughout the semester because everything we learned was something new, however it all connected as a whole. One of my favorite parts of this course was writing the country profile paper throughout the semester. Each student was able to choose a country to research and compose an overall paper to describe all aspects of the country including everything we had been taught throughout the semester. I chose the country of Belize because it is one of my favorite countries to visit and I wanted to learn more about it. Imbedded in this page is my country profile paper I submitted.
