This professional development event was the most informational for me. I have always considered becoming a travel nurse and getting to speak to one really helped me to make that decision. The travel nurse spoke about her benefits as well as the options for housing which was very helpful to listen to. I think that this professional activity gave me great insight into the life of a travel nurse as well as some of the hardships that can come with it. The nurse explained that travel nursing can be lonely and there can be little orientation period when coming to a new unit. I think that if I decide to pursue travel nursing, I will be more prepared for what is being asked of me and be more prepared for my career.
