The Robbie Page Play Atrium is part of the philanthropy for my sorority, Tri Sigma. When visiting the atrium, the volunteers play with children who are sick and often do not get much social interaction. While volunteering here, I played with a young boy who had cancer. His mother sat and talked to me about how hard the treatments had been on her family and how they had to move to be closer to the hospital for treatments. I think this volunteer experience helped me to better understand how important patient interaction is, especially when it comes to children.
