Pillar Requirement

The first class I took that fulfilled this requirement is an introduction to Philosophy 200. This class really challenged my mind, I had to look at things a little differently then I am used to. We learned about different philosophers in different time periods. But the main question he posed to us was what is life and who can tell you what is what. He asked us multiple times if anything in life was real or are we making it up. Below is my final were we had to extract an argument and decided what form they used for the argument.

The second class I took that fulfilled the requirement was Math 171, statistics. This class was definitely difficult but we learned about the probability anyone will do anything. We learned about the use of numbers and stats and how they can be very useful in everyday life.

Another class that I took to fulfill this requirement is English 210 Tales on the Frontier. This class was a heavy reading based class but we discussed each book to a good length. We discussed the politics, psychology, history, and basic humanities of the people we read about. We talked about how frontiers are different then they were back then and how the struggles are different in a vast majority. Below is a paper I wrote on feminism being a frontier. I explain how Feminism is a frontier and it’s a growing one but I connect it to the books we read and explained the differences.

Another class that I took that fulfilled this requirement was Introduction to Psychology 110. This also covered for my major because I am a psychology major. We talked about disorders that were mentally, physically, and emotional ones, we discussed the brain and how the mind works. The final project was on any topic we learned about and I did mine on criminals and their mindsets.

Are Criminals Born or are they Formed

Another class I took was History of Rock ‘n’ Roll. we discussed music from the 60s all the way up to early 90s. we discussed the music industries and new techniques that were brought up as time moved. We discussed the artist and the change in genres. We were split into “Bands” which were are groups for the semester and we did most of the classwork with them. For my final project, we had to take an early artist and compare it to a new artist. we had to look at their techniques, past, fame, genre etc.

The last class I had to take to complete this was my language course which was ASL 110. In this class, we talked about the culture, language, the different forms, and the biased and hate towards death people.  The biggest thing we did in this class was going to a death person counseling place and interact with them for a day. This helped me learn a lot better because I was actually interacting with people but I also learned so much about the language and any biased was gone after seeing how they act and it normalized them. Below is a reflection on my visit to the PCA event.
