With the Brochure assignment, I was able to work with team members in order to create a document that would help sell a product. Through the use of graphics and short language, I was able to write the “Testimonies” panel as well as the “Benefits” panel. When writing these panels, I found it most challenging to be able to cut my information down to short bullet points. This was overcome by using language that is clear and concise. I leaned how to work with others on a document that I did not completely create, which was challenging at times but we worked through it by meeting and discussing our imagined product.
These completed outcomes include:
- Create professional documents that use plain English
- Conduct research to create content for a variety of professional documents
- Create professional documents that use design–standard formats, layout, use of graphics, etc. and
- Participate productivity in collaborative projects
I used plain English that allowed me to effectively communicate with an imagined audience. This type of document is professional because it is promoting a fake product that my group mates worked together to create. The design was a bit challenging as the panel numbers were confusing but this was fixed with a reference page provided by the professor. The graphics used allow for more attention to be drawn to the page. I also learned about a new website to help me in the future in order to use graphics in douments without copyright images. Overall, working with team mates made the project easier because there were more ideas to collaborate with.
