The brochure assignment addressed outcomes 2, 3 and 4. For this assignment, I created a brochure offering a service (sporting clay shooting). It addressed outcome 2 as there was an expectation to use plain English. I also had to maintain a professional tone, while still persuading someone to purchase my service. It addressed outcome 3 as I had to research the proper structure of a brochure. I used the textbook to do this. For example, I had to place a specific type of information on each page. For this brochure, I used the AIDA method. Lastly, this brochure addressed outcome 4 because it was very dependent on overall design. I had to include things such as: graphics, color schemes, varying text sizes, varying text colors, and overall flow of document. I enjoyed this assignment as it allowed me to be creative. I actually hand drew all of the smaller graphics on my iPad, such as the two shot guns and all of the sporting clays. I plan to use the information I learned from this when I moves into my professional career as a speech language pathologist–particularly when I have to market my services.
