Reflection: During my first semester, this class was the perfect mixture of challenging, yet satisfying. Although I am a Spanish major, I love English-especially writing. Without this class, I don’t believe I would have understood how to read and write effectively as a scholar. For my artifact, I attached one of the two papers that I wrote. This is the longest paper that I have written to date. Although I know that there will be longer papers, I feel certain that I am prepared after having taken this course. I received an “A-” on this paper, which was hard to come by. The grading in my class was competitive, which caused me to provide a superb amount of effort for an A. Writing comes easy to me, so this was a new phenomenon. However, I finished the semester with an A, and two pieces of work to be proud of.
