Along with the extensive and loyal community that AST provided me with, I was also granted numerous opportunities for service. Our national philanthropy is the Women’s Wellness Initiative, which inspires women to be their wholesome and true selves. Our local philanthropies are Dress for Success and Adopt-a-Highway. Dress for Success assists women who are struggling financially with finding business attire for job interviews. This was especially fulfilling for me to participate in because I can personally empathize with their financial struggles. Finally, Adopt-A-Highway (pictured above) consists of picking up litter off of the side of a rode that we’ve “adopted.” While this experience wasn’t always exhilarating, I was proud of my sisters and I for making an impact on not only the Farmville community but also the planet.
