My first science class at Longwood was BIOL 101, Biological Concepts. As an introductory course it gave me the fundamental principles I was introduced to in high school, but on a deeper level. With only twelve students in my class, I was able to see the benefits of coming to Longwood and their small class sizes. Taking Honors Biological Concepts allowed me to test the waters of the science department, while carrying an experiment from start to finish. The poster shown below is the work conducted from my experiment that tested the presence of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in two types of foods containing corn.
