Internship

As a Biology major, my internship requirement has been fulfilled through doing one on one research with Dr. Alvarez. Our research involves synthetic biology to uncover the presence of metal contaminants in baby foods. Working alongside Dr. Alvarez has been extremely beneficial.I have developed better laboratory skills as well as a deeper understanding of the research process. The lessons learned from my time with Dr. Alvarez will prepare me for graduate school. Having this extra skill set will hopefully open up more doors for me in the future. Unfortunately, my Spring 2020 research was cut short due to COVID-19. However, I am excited to get back into the lab and see what else I can discover!
