Quantitative Reasoning: (MATH 171- HONS: Statistical Decision Making)

Partner Paper on Marriage Rates of Students in Stats

October 21, 2019

By: Kody Scordellis and Jacob Baker

This assignment was the second paper we had to complete in this course. The course was very challenging and rigorous for me, and the papers were even more challenging, as I had to explain my work. This assignment, the second time around, helped me further understand the course expectations as well as course material. Math has always been a struggle for me. When I had to explain my work step by step and take time to reflect the problem and reasoning, it helped me prepare for the tests. Since I worked with a partner, it also helped me communicate and have that extra hand and help as well. I think this assignment helped me realize that there are going to be some classes that will need that extra time to put into and there will be times that I am stumped.

Historical and Contemporary Insights: (ENGL 215- HONS: 9/11 Loss and Redemption)

Final English Project

November 26, 2018

By: Kody Scordellis and Ashley Bungcayao

This project was a great assignment to help me utilize everything I learned in my first semester. The video was a connection made from all the readings we had in class along with the course title, Loss and Remorse. It revolved around 9/11, even the shows and readings. I was able to apply my class knowledge into my final project to review the many losses that 9/11 has brought but also the remorse it left. Not just to the loved one’s affected, but to society as a whole. This was a historical insight as it taught me of the past and how this one event affected everyone at the time and how it affects us now.

First Year Foundations Course: Writing and Rhetoric: (ENGL 165 HONS: Writing and Rhetoric)

Dangers of Vaping

March 1, 2019

By: Kody Scordellis

This class has taught me many improvements towards my writing and new ways to expand it. Along with the writing, I was taught how to find reliable and legit research to use when citing my quotes, and how to cite a quote correctly. This paper was our first paper and it made me apply my skills of research, presenting, and citing all in one. It was perfect to use as an example for the class as it portrays examples of my writing and understanding of it with thorough explanation and examples.

Abortion Study Guide for Final Oral Exam

November 2, 2018

By: Professor Blincoe  /    Worked on by: Kody Scordellis

This study guide was very helpful for the class and defined the class fairly well. When the class and myself dove into this assignment and had to decide which side of the argument we would take, which gave a bigger challenge. Then, we would have to find the pros and cons to each side and mention each naysayer or reasons as to why it could be wrong, but in the end, this is why I believe what I believe. This class made me think a lot more on reasonings and theories and it was more than just find an answer. Preparing for the final oral exam made me practice in argumentative research and discussion by attacking the argument and not the parson. The study guide helped me prepare for this and I will apply the skills learned to other classes.
