Conclusion

Included in this ePortfolio you will find course journals, a rhetorical analysis, and the Common Good Project (which includes a website, brochure, and rationale statement). While taking Active Citizenship Writing I researched the opioid addiction epidemic to create a website, as well as a brochure, to benefit the common good of society. In creating these documents, as well as the others listed above, I have developed many skills that can be transferred to other contexts during my professional endeavors. For example, as a teacher, I will need organization, management, and leadership skills in order to best educate my students. Through working as a team, I developed the ability to delegate responsibility fairly among my teammates. Through multiple presentations throughout this course, I have greatly improved how effectively I can speak to a crowd of students. Communication skills are essential as a teacher. When I have my own classroom I will be required to effectively communicate with students, guardians/ parents, colleges, and administration. Upon graduation, I hope to take these skills to teach my elementary students that they too have a voice in the community. I want to show my students how to be an active citizen, and I will accomplish that goal through the example of my own personal active participation in my community.

Thank You!

Thank you for taking the time to view my ePortfolio. I sincerely enjoyed taking English 400 during the Spring 2019 semester. Creating this ePortfolio allowed me to see, in full, the improvement I have made and skills that I have developed.
