~Inter Integrated Lang & Cult I~
Spanish 211 was a course that followed Spanish 101, and Spanish 210. This course was speaking and writing infused, so the majority of the classwork revolved around practicing speaking Spanish and submission of written responses to questions and prompts. We also had a few quizzes and chapter tests.
When the format was forced to go online due to COVID-19, we continued our spoken classwork via Zoom and were given group work to spark small discussions. This was my final Spanish course that I was required to take for my degree, and although I was never the best at Spanish this course, as well as the course prior (Spanish 210) really pushed me to my limits and allowed me to develop my speaking skills, as well as grammar skills in a foreign language.
My favorite aspect of this course was how we were able to extend the language to everyday talk and current content. An example of this is seen in the artifact provided below.
This artifact features two parts; the first shows answers to four questions regarding eclipses, superstitions, and astrology. The second part features a description of my personality and zodiac sign. For part II, we were given a link to an astrology website with all of the zodiac signs and the common descriptions of each and were asked to agree or disagree on whether or not we relate to each aspect for our zodiac sign.
