Reflection: The content in my ePortfolio consists of works that I have done throughout this semester, which include the Correspondence Letters, Brochure, Press Release, and Formal Report. The course outcome that I took away from this conclusion was to conduct research to create content for a variety of professional documents (memos, letters, reports, etc). Since the conclusion is based off all my past assignments completed throughout this course, they all serve a purpose and will definitely help me one day when I get into the professional world. By completing each of these assignments, I have learned about professional writing and how each course outcomes relates to each writing. I will take what I have learned and reflect my future goals regarding professional writing and know this class has helped me with many professional matters. I will transfer my knowledge and skills that I have gained in this class to various other contexts throughout my life as the opportunity arises. Not only did this class teach me how to do the following documents that I listed above, but it also taught me how to write compose a Resume, Cover Letter, have the confidence to speak in front of my class and present a Ted-Talk, and also learn more about Copy-Editing. Throughout this semester, I took away a lot of useful tools that I will need to know how to use in my future and I’m thankful that this class gave me that opportunity. These documents that I learned how to do, will help me when applying to Grad School to get my Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology (SLP). I think that by taking ENGL 470 and learning about different concepts throughout the semester, I will know what to do and how to do each document. The knowledge and the skills that I have gained in this class are important to know and to take into consideration at different professional moments in my life and use them to the best of my ability. I have learned a lot of information about professional writing this semester and I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to gain all this information that will be useful in my future.
