Community

Once I started college at Longwood, I have a better understanding of the word, community. I am attending a college that is 5 hours away from home. Moving here, I was nervous because I did not know anyone who already went to Longwood. I was stepping way out of my comfort zone and part of me was excited to start this new adventure but a bigger part of me was nervous because it would be something completely new. Once I arrived at Longwood, it didn’t take me long to find my niche and close group of friends that became more like family. I also had amazing professors and advisors who were always available to talk or help with any issues I was facing. This new group of people created a supportive and loving community that made me feel at home. Longwood is a community full of individuals who support and love one another. The sense of community at Longwood is one of the many reasons that I love this University.
