Scholarship, as one of the three pillars of The Cormier Honors College, is obviously a major aspect of life as an honors scholar at Longwood. My academics mean a lot to me as an Honors scholar and nursing student and I strive to achieve in all aspects. What I love about honors courses at Longwood is that they challenge students to thing about things in a deeper way, seeing how we can apply them in real life situations. I feel that this is especially beneficial to myself as a nursing student because everything I learn will be utilized in my experience as a nurse. I can also apply this to my non-honors classes, looking at problems in class differently and thinking critically about them. Since beginning my time at Longwood, I have also noticed that I use the critical problem solving we apply in class to day-to-day problems I face outside of the classroom.
