Community

Community is one of three pillars that The Cormier Honors College stands for. As an Honors College Scholar, I have learned more than ever in the past year the importance of playing a role in my community. Through many volunteer opportunities provided by the multiple organizations I belong to at Longwood, I have gained an understanding of how much can be conquered when we come together as a community. Anything from raising money for cancer to building a bench in a state park can be accomplished when people come together to make it happen. In addition, my personal community that is The Cormier  Honors College and my fellow Nursing students have furthered my understanding of community even more. We work as a team, always aiming to better one another in all that we do at Longwood and otherwise. I feel as though I would not have gained this amazing community or understanding of what community means at any other university. The community I have become a part of at Longwood has given me endless resources to aid me in my education and future endeavors.
