We were in Valencia, Spain for almost 6 weeks. It was even better than I could have ever imagined. We went on a few excursions during our time in Spain including Granda, Segovia, Cordoba, and Peniscola. We also took classes at a local Spanish university. I took Spanish 211 and History 348. I loved getting to learn Spanish in the classroom and on the streets of Valencia. We also stayed with host families. My host family consisted of a mom. She made us Spanish meals daily. However one of my favorite memories is doing our cross country training in a park right by our hosts’ houses. My teammate Sage and I had so much fun running through the park almost every day. Some days we would even have to run in between classes to get all our miles in. The park was always full of other runners and dogs. The park was an old dried up river and was of great historical significance to Valencia. Sage and I even got the chance to run a race while we were there. In the included pictures there is Sage and I in La Plaza de la Virgen and scenic view from Peniscola at the top of a castle that we visited. The document attached is one of our homework assignments. We had homework almost everyday where we had to ask people around us about historical events and places that we went and it was so much fun to do.
