French 102 was essentially the next building block to French 101. Where in 101 we learned the basics of the French language, this was stepped up in French 102. We were expected to be able to speak full sentences in French, be able to write paragraphs using correct grammar and French vocabulary, and we were also expected to be able to pass tests with a bit more material than before. While I enjoyed this class well enough, I cannot say it was a favorite or that I learned quite as much as I had hoped I would. While Professor Crowell is a nice man, I did not feel as though he was always effective in his teaching, and that coupled with one less class session than the other French 102 classes was not helpful. I did, however, learn quite a bit from the outside of class homework given, much like in French 101. I used this as a supplement for when we did not have our Wednesday class and was able to learn quite a bit from it. I have attached one of our worksheets that I did best on when I originally had thought I wasn’t doing well on the topic. It was a nice surprise to see that I was learning more than I had thought and really was “getting it.” While this class wasn’t a favorite, I am glad I took it when I did as I will finish my French credits by the end of next semester.
