Ever since I can remember, my family or I have been involved in some sort of service work. Whether it be through the community, local clubs or organizations, or just through school, my family has always placed a certain amount of importance on volunteer work. Being in honors, my love for volunteer work has only grown. Though I have not done much of my volunteer work through the honors college, one of my fondest experiences was during honors retreat, when my group volunteered at the Clean Virginia Waterways house doing varying helpful acts in order to make their operation run smoother. On top of this volunteer work for honors, I have since participated in the Big Event, Highways Cleanup, and volunteering at a Nursing home with my sorority, Sigma Kappa. I hope that next year I will be able to be involved in more service opportunities through not only honors but the many other organizations which I am apart of. Thanks to the honors community, I have been able to branch out and help my community through both honors and other organizations and further my love of volunteer work.
