Because first-year honors students move in much earlier than the rest of the Longwood community, this was the first place in which I found my forever friends. Many nights have been spent in the halls of wheeler laughing, studying, and crying with my friends in honors. Wheeler has become a sort-of home away from home that will always hold a special place in my heart for all of the friendships that were formed within its tiny rooms. Room 212 and 234 will always be the places where I truly found my forever friends. Without honors and my entire experience during the honors retreat, I would have never met many of the people that I have spent hours laughing and crying with. Without the classes with my honors peers, I would have never understood a truly immersive learning experience complete with some of the brightest minds at Longwood, even if sometimes I may have felt a little like the dumbest one in the room (which I know if they read this, they would all probably yell a collective “NO YOU AREN’T” at me). No matter what, I know my honors friends and peers will be there through thick and thin because quite frankly, they already have been. Honors is where many great friendships bloom, and I am so thankful to be apart of the Honors community, where I know I will always have a place to call “home.”
