Dear Senior Hannah,
I hope that you are happy in life. I hope that you feel passionate in what you are doing and what you have accomplished. I hope that you are still with Seth, engaged by now, and thinking about planning a wedding soon. I hope that he has found the right place in a career for himself and your future. I hope that you have found some internships with Judy or the girls at Wells Fargo. I hope that you are looking at some job opportunities or maybe starting a business for yourself. I hope that you have found how you want to help people and get them on the right track in life.
I hope that you are confident. I hope that you are unapologetically being yourself. I hope you trust those that hurt you less and that you trust yourself more. I hope you aren’t second guessing every thought or action. I hope that you have dealt with anxiety in productive ways that helps you be less afraid and more spontaneous. I hope you find clothes that fit and business attire that you feel comfortable in. I hope that you feel and know that you’re as beautiful as you are. I hope you know that exercising or needing to exercise does not always mean needing to lose weight because exercise is healthy for you, and your future. I hope that you have many more memories with Mommom, Pawpaw, Shelly, Aunt Bert, Aunt Jody, Granddaddy, Uncle D, Abby, Zio, Maurquese, Nana, Aunt Chell, Jessika, Jonathan, and even dad. I hope you don’t let dad’s jokes get to your head so bad. I hope you have more memories with Ma, Pa, CC, Buddy, Caleb, Kaylynn, Kensley, and the little one. I hope you get to go back to high school and see those teachers you miss so much. I wish you could see Mr. Blair. I hope that you have more icecreams with Ms. Padgett! (And maybe visit her and Andy, and Lysander, and Paris, and Peach) once all of this Coronavirus pandemic has gone away. I hope that no one has the Coronavirus when you see this again. Hopefully things won’t have changed too much, and some things will be like normal.
I hope that you find your style, but can still rock a graphic tee. I hope that you still like My Little Pony, Hello Kitty, We Bare Bears, and all things Disney (THE Aristocats!). I hope that you and Rachel are okay and still good friends, along with Sami. I hope that Sami stayed at Longwood, but remember it’s not your fault if she didn’t and that you can still be friends with her.
I hope that you can drive by now, and that you do some things that scare you. I hope that you set boundaries and are assertive in them. I hope that you are the positive bright beautiful girl with the smile that lights up a room, but can still get shit done like the badass woman that you are. I hope that you know who you are and only allow yourself to control you.
I hope that you know Mommy is always with you and is so so so proud of you and all you have accomplished. She sees you. She loves you. You can’t see her, but she never left your side. She supports you. No matter what you do could never make her love you any less. She is and will always be proud of you. Mommy loves you Babygirl. And I hope you know that every day. I hope that you see her more, feel her more, and dream of her more, but always remember she is right with you.
There are many things your Freshman self hopes for your Senior self, and perhaps much more than this here, but the most important thing that I hope for you and the most important thing I will ever hope for you is that I hope you are happy.
