Taking this history class was an interesting experience for me. Because it was from colonial times to the late 1800’s, there was a lot of material I had been learning for many years throughout school. However, there were many details and units that expanded on previous knowledge into information I had not known. Continuing with new experiences, I had not written history papers before this class. There were a few worksheet assignments and two larger papers. I had to analyze information I had learned and apply it to the questions being asked. Not only that, but I had to really understand the language of the time period, comprehend what it meant, and then think of it in a way that made sense to what was being discussed. It was a bit difficult for me because the way English was written then is so different from the way it is today. I tried my best, and was eventually able to understand better.
