P.R.I.D.E.

During my sophomore year, I attended weekly meetings of People Respecting Individuality, Diversity, & Equality – P.R.I.D.E. I originally started going because I knew some of the members and the dynamic of the organization was changing, and before I knew it, P.R.I.D.E. became part of my schedule. I enjoyed the warm atmosphere, thought-provoking conversations, and everlasting support from fellow members.

Meetings consisted of sometimes heavy, but always important topics regarding the LGBTQ+ community. As a whole, we learned about representation, societal influences, and personal revelations of our own experiences.

Nearing the later part of the spring semester, I was approached by the Vice President of P.R.I.D.E. in interest of running for the position of Treasurer. I entered the elections, and won the title. After the spring 2021 commencement, I took over this position, and will continue throughout the fall 2021 semester.

I look forward to gaining experience within the LGBTQ+ community and on the executive board of P.R.I.D.E. making unforgettable memories with kind, eccentric, fun people.
