Environmental Science was an in depth class in how we looked at different aspects of the course. I found it very interesting that the class wasn’t just a broad spectrum of earth science topics, but a very focused learning environment about how we perceived the world around us. I learned that I need to be more aware of how my actions influence the environment around me.
For me, the class was pretty easy in how we worked on some basic readings and discussions. I liked those because we got to talk about how things that were happening in the present day were relating to our class and I feel like that was really fun and interesting. The challenging part of the class was writing papers for the labs that we had to do. Science papers were not exactly my strong suit and I ended up having a harder time writing them.
Artifact
I chose this paper as my artifact because I worked on it with a group of students in my class as our big final lab report that we had to do after we conducted experiments. The paper was lightly graded by our professor because none of us were science majors so writing a science paper was a little foreign to us. The experiment in the paper was conducted by us as students though, and I think that the hands on experience we received in the lab was useful to us. We all learned from it in some way and worked as a team to demonstrate that we were capable of conducting our own experiment based on what we had been taught in class.
