Pre and Post Case Summary

This is a case summary that includes pre and post assessment data for a beginner reader that I spent time with tutoring. Goals were created for the student based on assessment data that guided instruction. after tutoring was complete, data was analyzed and calls for future intervention were then made to be communicated with the classroom teacher.

Literacy Profile

This literacy profile reflects the work completed during tutoring with an instructional reader. It goes over assessment data, instruction and rationale, progress, and communication with his teacher.

Rationale

Assessment and evaluation is essential when designing instruction and administering assessments that are suitable for students’ learning. Both artifacts show the use of assessment data and the process of evaluation of the data with different tutees. Specific assessments were chosen with the knowledge I have acquired to then be administered properly to the students (ILA 3.1). Assessment data was used to determine starting points and growth of students literacy skills. I used “data for decision making about student assessment, instruction, intervention, and evaluation” (ILA 3.2) The process to “explain assessment results and advocate for appropriate literacy and language practices” was completed to communicate the need for further intervention with teachers and parents (ILA 3.4).
