Exercise Intervention in Health & Disease

This class was not originally an honors course, but I enhanced this course with another student that is in the CHC. This course is all about how exercise and adding physical activity into ones life can lower the risk factors of disease. Whilst learning about all of this information, me and the other CHC student got into contact with a client that had hypothyroidism as well as being postpartum. To enhance this class, we learned all of the background information about out clients and then created a workout/exercise program that we felt would help her diseases along with getting her body back to the way it was before having her baby. This class is only available to Kinesiology majors, but if it ever becomes available to all students, I would highly recommend taking this class because there is a lot of information that is useful for anyone that might be at risk for a disease.

The artifact that I have included was the exercise program that we created for our client. This was a part of our enchantment for this class as well as what we presented at the Student Showcase for Research & Creative Inquiry at Longwood University this past Fall. This project was very helpful because it helped me take what I learned in class and put it to use on a real client.
