I have acquired experiences and knowledge in this course of Social Research and Program Evaluation (SOCL-345), which will be valuable for references in the future. I had difficulty at the beginning of the academic year defining research and utilizing quantitative analysis to assess research. By enrolling in this class, I had the capability to improve my knowledge and comprehension while establishing my legitimacy in the field of social research. Citing sources when writing an academic paper is necessary to establish the validity of the topic. Due to the interpersonal bias associated with some articles, it was challenging to find references especially for this topic, “How Can Parents Involvement In their child’s learning through family fun-time activities.”
Although, some articles reported only the facts rather than being purely focused on opinion. As a result, major adjustments were made to the methods for selecting appropriate articles and ensuring the author’s reliability. Additionally, I encountered challenges while working on the project that made it more difficult for me to finish it correctly. Conflicts between the schoolwork, my employment and poor time management were caused by the assignment’s format. The proper resource allocation was another obstacle to the assignment’s completion and procedures. Even despite exercising bad time-management habits and having difficulty finding useful sources, I eventually developed some time management skills. Nevertheless, despite the low survey response rate of 20%, my approach to the assignment evolved from doing it only to get a grade to developing a interest in the welfare, education, and overall engagement in a child’s life.
My experiences with bereavement as I was growing up have helped me recognize the value of parental involvement. It’s crucial for researchers to avoid evaluating and analyzing research based on personal bias. One needs to have the ability to gather and analyze data in order to “Think like a researcher.” Research is ongoing, and depending on the topic, a researcher’s capacity to be passionate, tenacious, and interested might increase the author’s reputation.
