Pearson’s Correlation

How parents rated their current relationship with their child/children was predicted by how many hours in a day they get to spend interacting with their child/children. Both variables were asked on a 0-10 scale. Findings indicate that there is a weak positive correlation (r = 0.289) between the parent’s rate of their current relationship with their child/children and how many hours in a day they get to spend interacting with their child/children. In other words, when parents spent more time interacting with their child/children, they rated their relationship higher. The researcher does not know if this would be true in a larger population.
