What interests me most is watching the news and keeping up with the profession I am about to enter. It was just released that Virginia’s Governor McAuliffe is creating a budget to help bring in more qualified teachers into Virginia. It excites that he is aware of the situation and willing to do whatever it takes to fix it. I am hoping that this will effect me and help my licensure along. The hardest part about becoming a teacher has been the money for school, and the money for the tests required for my licence. The testing which is the praxis (math) and the VCLA (reading and writing) was the reason that I had to change my degree from Elementary Education to a Liberal Studies. The only difference in these two degrees is that I will not have my teaching licence. Which also means that I cannot teach public school; private only. I have the high hopes of attaining my licence or to be hired on a provisional licence. Whatever I have to do to be able to teach. Governor McAuliffe is trying to pass a big chunk of money to help get more qualified teachers in these Virginia public schools.
