The “Common Good” Project was a project that we put together that integrated all the course concepts we had discussed during the semester. For this project, we had to collaborate with a group and design a website and brochure that would address an issue, and we then would advocate a case, all for the “common good”. My group chose to focus on implementing renewable energy at Longwood. We discussed the benefits of renewable energy, how it not only was good for Longwood, but for the world as a whole. In our project, we discussed how Longwood was already implementing some forms of renewable energy and what they could do to better those ideas. In our project, we included various course concepts and used the Aristotelian Appeals to make a persuasive case. This project was an ideal way for our group to display our ideas of active citizenship while also recognizing concepts we learned in our course along the way.
