Statistics is my ultimate favorite part of mathematics because its so applicable in real life and necessary to understand how to do them and what they mean. This was one of my favorite classes of my first semester because I got to use what I learned to help my lacrosse team break down our game statistics. In addition, I am a psychology major and statistics is extremely important in analyzing studies and experiments to create theories. For our final project we looked at coins in two separate ways; what year they were minted, and if they had an eagle or a state symbol on the tails side. Even though it might seem plain, using coins is a great way to practice statistics because each coin is different and it can help show how much variety there is in life.
