Biography

Hello, my name is Haleigh Pannell and I want to thank you for visiting my e-portfolio for my time in the Comier Honors College at Longwood University. I began my journey at Longwood in the fall of 2016 after leaving my home in Urbana, Maryland. I entered my freshamn year as a Biology major, but left it as Psychology major with a Neurostudies minor. Another change was I began as a student-athlete, playing for the lacrosse program, and decided that that path was not ideal for me.

In my second year at Longwood I added a lot to my plate. I transitioned from a senator on the SGA to the class president of the class of 2020, an honor board justice, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, a member of the Student Diversity and Inclusion Council, a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, a member of the club lacrosse team, a member of the Student Finance Committee, and I founded the first mental health and suicide awareness club Promise16.

In my third year at Longwood, I continued with my long list of involvements. I got further into my major and finished my minor. My biggest accomplishment came in April when I became the first woman of color to become Student Body President. I spent my year preparing for the busy senior year that I am going to have, but I am extremely excited ot bring change to Longwood where we need it and continue the great things that we have going!

Thank you again for visiting my page and observing and learning about my experiences throughout my time at Longwood in the Comier Honors College.
