Letter to Senior Self

Dear Senior Self,
Hello! I completed my freshman year already and I cannot believe it. It flew by, but it was definitely a year to remember and one that I will never forget. This year has been very eventful and a lot has changed in my life. When I first began college I was really worried that it was going to be hard being away from home and my family, but it really was not as hard as I thought it would be. I think the automatic push of no longer being home was good for me and that this independence was what I needed. I feel like getting out of my comfort zone like this was what I needed in order to grow, make friends, try new things, and get involved. I also feel like honors helped with the adjustment to this new college life. This year I got involved decently well. I joined the Big Siblings Club and Alpha Lambda Delta honors society. I even took part in a few volunteer opportunities around campus. I am very pleased with the grades that I made and could not be more happy about how this year went overall.
Over the next few years and by time I become a senior I hope I become even more involved. I want to live my college experience to the greatest degree and never turn down an opportunity. I really hope that I have a life changing study abroad experience that changes my perspective on the world. Most of all though I hope that I keep the work ethic and dedication that I have now and love Longwood even more.

Sincerely,
Freshman Self
