Deciding what to do with my future has been an immense struggle for me throughout my time here at Longwood. At the beginning of this school year, I was a Liberal Studies Major with a concentration in Elementary Education. For as long as I could remember, teaching had been the plan for my life, however, the flame in my heart eventually burned out. Although I did well in my Liberal Studies classes, by the time that Winter Intersession rolled around I knew that it was not what I intended to do with my life. I hit a fork in the road, and I almost thought about giving up with school entirely. Once I snapped back to reality, I decided to pursue a field that I was genuinely interested in: Psychology. It wasn’t until I had my first Biopsychology class that I realized how amazing the brain and the sciences in general. Eventually, this piqued my interest about studying medicine. After many months of research all that it takes to become a Doctor, I finally decided that this was the right path for me to take in life. I finished off the spring semester with straight A’s, and a passion for the future.
