All throughout the fall semester, I was suffering from extreme loneliness. I knew that I needed to branch out more and find a way to connect myself to Longwood, but I wasn’t sure of the best way to do it. I had always heard people rave about “going greek,” but I didn’t particularly consider myself the stereotypical sorority girl. I went out on a limb at the start of the Spring semester and went through formal recruitment. I was only invited back by one organization in the end, but it ended up being the perfect one for me. Alpha Sigma Tau has provided me with a sense of community that I had yet to experience before. I’ve had the chance to meet multitudinous amounts of extraordinary women-both in my chapter and alumni. The friends I’ve made thus far I’m certain will last a lifetime, and I cannot wait to see what else is in store.
