Correspondence

Reflection:

Before addressing my resume, I must look further back to a short series of letters titled “Bad News Letter” and “Persuasive Letter.” These were an individual assignment; one I find the least difficulty with. The letters discussed just what their titles suggest. However, the most important issue to overcome in these letters is the clear, concise, plain English that goes overlooked at times. While I have extensive experience with academic writing, the style of writing used for these letters seems “dumbed down” (for lack of better words) in comparison to an academic paper. However, I learned this plain English is the proper dialect for the professional environment. This is due to the audience’s need to understand what the letter states quickly and easily. While it was a frustrating effort, I find my final result to be satisfying.
