Through Honors ENGL 400, I was given the opportunity from Dr. Guler to present my Rhetorical Analysis of the song “We Are The World” at the Spring Student Showcase for Research and Creative Inquiry. I have included the link below that will take you to the Digital Commons site, where you can download my project. This presentation forced me to take my rhetorical analysis a step further and even apply it to the hardships are world is facing currently due to COVID-19. Taking part in the Spring Student Showcase for Research and Creative Inquiry pushed me to dive deeper into my topic. It was also gratifying to see the new limits I could reach in an area so different from my major in Biology. Analyzing a rhetorical situation is a skill I will take with me well beyond my time at Longwood, from the people I meet to the circumstances I encounter. Expanding my knowledge in other subjects has broaden my perspective and has helped me develop into a more well-rounded student.
