The Virginia Tasting Cellar: A multi-room Winery and Cidery

Welcome back to another edition of Explore Farmville! In this week’s blog we are going to journey down Main St. to the Virginia Tasting Cellar. The Tasting Cellar is located on the Appomattox River and features an indoor tasting room along with an outdoor patio.

The Virginia Tasting Cellar is a multi-winery tasting room. The Tasting Cellar features anywhere from 8 to 12 wineries/ ciders throughout the year. As of right now, the Tasting Cellar has 8 wineries and 1 cider available for tasting in the tasting room.

The Wineries include:

  • Hunt’s Vineyard
  • Horton Vineyard
  • Hunting Creek Vineyard
  • Rockbridge Vineyard
  • Rosement of Virginia Winery
  • Stanburn Winery
  • First Colony Winery
  • Thistle Gate Winery

The Cidery includes:

  • Buskey Cider

Hours and Pricing:

The Tasting Room is open from Thursday till Sunday. The last tasting is always 15 minutes prior to the closing closing of the Tasting Room. The price for tasting is $12. This is super affordable way to try many ciders and wines from around Virginia. This saves you the weekend trip with your friends around Virginia to try all of them! The $12 entrance fee includes one tasting glass and a wrist band. This wrist band includes 10 tabs that will be ripped off by the attendant for every tasting. The Tasting Room has 9 different bars, each set up with one winery or cidery.

Tasting Room Hours:

Thursday 4-8 PM

Friday & Saturday 12-8 PM

Sunday 12-6 PM

Last Tasting ~ 15 minutes prior to close

After the tasting, you can enjoy a glass, pint, or bottle of your favorite beverage in the Tasting Cellar or on the outdoor patio. The patio also includes a pallet swing and two outdoor fireplaces for when it gets cooler outside.
