Community

During my education at Longwood University, I have been an enthusiastic and engaged student, as well as a dedicated member of the broader community. My active involvement in various campus organizations reflects my commitment to personal growth and community service. As a member of Phi Mu Alpha, I have had the privilege of contributing to meaningful music-related service projects, witnessing the transformative power of music in the community. My participation in the Honors Student Association has allowed me to interact with like-minded peers, fostering intellectual growth and a strong sense of camaraderie. Furthermore, my involvement in the American Choral Directors Association has provided me with valuable opportunities to immerse myself in choral music and contribute to the vibrant choral community at Longwood. As a member of the Geist chapter of Mortar Board, I’ve been able to extend my commitment to leadership and service, working alongside fellow scholars to make a positive impact on the Longwood Community by helping plan Oktoberfest. These experiences have not only broadened my horizons but have also reinforced the importance of active participation in campus and community life during my time at Longwood University.

Community lies at the heart of Longwood University’s mission, serving as a cornerstone of the institution’s values and goals. Longwood recognizes that a strong sense of community fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where students, faculty, and staff can thrive. Through the Cormier Honors College and other campus organizations, I have been beyond privileged to serve my community and to be a small part of such a wonderful place.
