Applied Statistics

Applied Statistics (Math 301):

This perspectives course has led me to new thinking through my academics. This course was challenging for me because I am a psychology major so I have learned statistics and used it in my specific research, but this course showed me a different way to use statistics as well as a different interpretation. A understanding of statistics is important to be able to make predictions in life and is especially important in evaluating research in psychology. This course helped enhance my understanding of research and in turn helped me with my participation in the Carolina’s Psychology Conference that I submitted a presentation for.

Below I have inserted my final report for the class. Our assignment was to use the information given and to determine the correct statistical analysis and to run that statistical analysis. This assignment allowed me to use my knowledge while also having to explain each step in its entirety. This assignment allowed me to see how to choose analyses while also knowing if they do not work. Although it was frustrating when the analyses were not correct, it led me to problem solve and understand better which would work for the situation. This knowledge will help me in my future psychology research and statistics use.
