Service

Service is an important part of being a Longwood student. Throughout my first year, I participated in a few service opportunities. In the fall of 2015, I went with the History Club to help the Chesterfield County Historical Society with their ghost story walk they do every year. In the spring of 2016 and 2017, I participated in the Big Event. The Big Event is a yearly event put on by Longwood, during which students go into the community of Farmville and help the residents.  In addition, throughout the semesters, I tutored some of my fellow honors students in math and physics. I also assisted at various open houses and honors events for Longwood throughout my time at the university. I also help out at different events put on by the Honors Student Association, such as Relay for Life, the SPCA dance, the Faces for Faces dance, and the state debate tournament. I attended the Cormier Honors College Service Retreat in the Spring of 2018.
