About Me

My name is Michael Carpenter and I am from Yorktown, Virginia.  I graduated from Grafton High School in June of 2016.  I began at Longwood University in August of the same year.  I chose Longwood because I admired the traditions and the small school feel.  Since starting at Longwood, I have learned leadership skills that will remain with me for the rest of my life.  I had the opportunity to work in many different positions on Longwood’s campus and loved every minute of it.  My times as an Ambassador has given me the ability to connect with others on a deeper level and market the school to their interests.  I aspire to get an internship in the Summer that will allow me to show off professional skills that have been learned during classes.  Looking forward, I hope to use my leadership skills and other skills from Longwood to obtain a job in marketing/advertising.

My interests include anything outdoors.  I have a passion for kayaking, fishing, and swimming.  I am a lifeguard at Water Country USA.  My favorite part of my job is being able to talk with the guests and exercise customer service skills.
