Choosing Longwood was one of the greatest decisions I ever made. What drew me to Longwood was its small and beautiful campus, its excellent repertoire of classes, and most of all its strong sense of community. I am thrilled to have been involved in several communities during my first year, but I am especially thankful for the Honors community for their support and camaraderie. The Honors Retreat was wonderful for easing us eager freshmen into university life without failing to deliver a healthy dose of fun. I always enjoyed walking into the Honors building to say hi to Alix and Jessi, grab an apple from the foyer, or even just to use the printer. No matter what my classmates were always happy to look up from their papers and binders to say hello and ask how I was doing. The closeness and caring nature of the Honors community is a blessing I hope to enjoy until graduation and beyond.
