For this enhancement, I worked with Dr. Amoss. Under his guidance, I wrote “L’art d’élite et l’art populaire en Les Enfants du Paradis, A bout de souffle, et Diva.” In this paper, I analyzed how high and low art are put at odds, and if and how the film depicts this rift.
This project was ultimately much harder than my English 380 enhancement, of which I completed at the same time as this enhancement, because I lacked a clear thesis and evidence to support my thesis. This was the first paper I have written in many years where I stumbled from beginning to end.
However, I took this enhancement as a learning experience. Not everything I do or write will be perfect, and for that I can be grateful. Opportunities to learn are important for the development of new ideas and growth of old ones, and for the development of one’s writing process.
