This Spanish course is the second Spanish course I have taken at Longwood and the second I have taken with the wonderful Dr. Barlow. I absolutely loved this class. I have always enjoyed Spanish, but it was especially fun in this course. Dr. Barlow always created fun, interactive activities for us to do during class. We learned so many topics that were not just grammar or vocabulary. We also learned about politics, history, and culture in Latin America. It is because of this course and Dr. Barlow I added a Spanish minor to further my skills in Spanish and knowledge of Spanish/Latin American culture. I am so excited to learn more and open my mind to the Hispanic world.
One of my favorite activities we did was a final project connected to an earlier assignment. We were to choose one of the movies out of the options she gave and answer questions about it. The final project would be to create a presentation that connected to the topic of the movie. The movie I chose was about Pablo Neruda and Socialism in Latin America. I learned so much during this project and throughout this course.
