Dear Senior Self…

Dear Senior Self,

You’ve almost made it and I’m so proud of you! It’s crazy that you’re the first in the family to graduate from college and I know everyone is so proud of you. I know these four years were hard, but whenever the going gets tough think of the children in your future classroom that need you. I hope you are someone all of those kids are proud of and someone that second grade you would be proud of. I hope that you’ve used the service opportunities to reach out to a community that’s given so much to you. I hope that you’ve found a sense of community that makes you feel welcomed and want to give back. I hope you’ve explored scholarship and truly taken advantage of the opportunities Longwood offers for lifelong learning. College wasn’t always a possibility for us and I can’t believe our dream has come true. We’ve also had the opportunity to join Sigma Kappa and I can already see how much growth this opportunity has given us. I can’t wait to see all the new accomplishments we make. As you near the end of your college career do not forget the girl you used to be. Be confident, graceful, forgiving, and determined. Most of all I hope you always remember Psalms 46:5 “God is within her, she will NOT fall.” You have come so far and you will continue to go far. Lastly, remember to thank Mom and Dad, they’ve done a lot for us.

Sincerely,

Your Freshman Self
