Since being a part of the Honors College, my two biggest opportunities to serve my community was through the honors retreat and Hull Springs Farm. During the honors retreat, I was a part of the group that cleaned up part of the High Bridge Trail. This allowed me to explore parts of the trail that I had not seen before, while also making it a cleaner place for the wildlife and hikers. At Hull Springs Farm I was a part of the group that cleaned up the Westmoreland County beaches along the river. This opportunity really opened my eyes to how much trash is left on beaches and how harmful it can be to the wildlife. I really enjoyed being able to participate in these activities and hope to be able to continue serving the community through Honors College events.
