Valencia, Spain

Spain is a beautiful country with a rich history and beautiful people.  I’m so thankful Longwood gave me the opportunity to dive so deeply into the Spanish culture.  They say a picture it worth a thousand words and I took plenty.  Here’s a visual retelling of my trip to Spain.  Be sure to read the captions!

This is the gate to the old city of Valencia from when the city was surrounded by walls.
This park is sunken below the street level. It used to be the Rio Turia, but the river flooded unpredictably. After devastating the city one last time in 1957, the river was drained and turned into a park.
The signs that show when you are allowed to walk through a cross walk are women on some streets.
The view from Papa Luna’s castle in Peniscola was incredible. Papa Luna was a pope in the Catholic Church at the same time as TWO!! other people.

More to come!
